![]() Hopefully the 1.51 update addresses these issues, because I JUST hooked my PS2 upstairs, and I JUST started a game on my PS3 with RG, and I don't want to have to go back and forth between PS2 and PS3 with the whole memory card issue. ![]() ![]() This is the same for DQ8 and other games I have tried. The overall image quality looks as if it is suffering from a bit of aliasing(even tho PS2 can't even do AA), as well as the general picture looking washed out. In 4:3 mode it looks squished and the display area is all warped and not in an actual square shape, and when i stretch it to 16:9 everyone looks fat and the display area is again looking warped. I bought it yesterday and played it on my PS3 through a 30" CRT HDTV, and it looked pretty awful. I don't know if Rogue Galaxy has this hidden feature or not. This is only for certain games, and only if the developers added the feature in there because the game engine itself has to support progressive scan. There is a trick with some old PS2 games where if you hold down certain buttons while the game is loading up a screen will come up that asks if you want to enable progressive scan. There has to be some quality lost through the conversion. I don't think it's the same as the game actually outputting a progressive scan signal, and then PS3 allowing that progressive signal through. ![]() The game engine itself is outputting an interlaced image signal, but the PS3 is trying to convert that into a progressively scanned signal. Level 5 was part of the dev team for DQ8, of course the engines are nearly identical.Īnd what is this trick you speak of? Only thing i know is if youre using HDMI cable, its going to output in 480p regardless because hdmi doesnt do 480i.Īnd i played it last night, im a little mad because it doesnt look nearly as good on my LCD HDTV as the CRT. ![]()
